I grabbed a copy of The First Phone Call from Heaven from the previous BBW, making it the first book of Mitch Albom that I have. After going through a month of reading slump, I decided to just pick a book and read it. Surprisingly I was totally hooked with the story.

Is it the greatest miracle ever or a massive hoax? Sully Harding, a grief-stricken single father, is determined to find out. This is a story about the power of belief - and a page-turner that will touch your soul.

Since The Last Phone Call from Heaven touches the subject of Christianity, another religion, maybe you would feel uncomfortable reading it but let's put the subject aside because there is something more about this book. If you couldn't read it, don't force yourself.

Sullivan Harding who has just been released from the military prison, he was in the Air Force, finds absurd in the story of the phone calls from the dead. It's so hard after having her beloved wife passed away and his little son clinging to the toy phone, hoping his mother would make the phone call. Sully  who doesn't want to disappoint his son embarks on the journey to expose the total fraud.

I understand the grieve of wanting to hear again from the loved ones, who would never come back again from the afterlife. Me too, if He allows it, want to hear my beloved grandmothers' voices again. Kun Faya Kun. But hearing again from them would not always end in happiness. The feeling of loss might be worsened. We would want to keep on hearing them till we couldn't be stopped. 

To be honest, I didn't expect the ending, the twists behind the phone calls. All of them start from Sully and Sully is the one who ends it.

Ini kali kedua Hana baca pasal abusive relationship. The first one is Me & You by Claudia Carroll. Tapi ter-review buku ni dulu. Tak kisah ya? :p Hehe.

Just a short review sebab masa Aidilfitri lepas Hana baca buku ni. Ingat ingat lupa :p

After almost 20 years, Serena dan Poppy bertemu kembali. Mereka hidup dalam suasana yang cukup berbeza selepas peristiwa yang membuatkan mereka famous sebagai The Ice Cream Girls. 

Bagi Hana, kisah ni lebih kepada bravery, forgetting, forgiving and accepting. Walaupun dah hampir 20 tahun berlalu, apa yang terjadi masih hidup dan menghantui Serena dan Poppy. Mereka berdua kena belajar menerima apa yang dah berlaku dan berani berhadapan dengan masa depan mereka.

A good story from Dorothy Komsoon. I really love it :)
